Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
- Assess residents’ needs and preferences to develop engaging programs that promote socialization, wellness, and overall well-being
- Collaborate with staff and residents to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible
- Maintain activity schedules, records, and participation logs
- Foster a positive, welcoming environment that encourages resident participation and interaction
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as needed to maximize engagement
- Proven experience in planning and implementing recreational activities, preferably in a senior living or assisted living setting
- At least one year of experience working directly with residents in an assisted living environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and engage residents of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing innovative activity programs
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in senior care environments
- Certification or training in recreational therapy or related fields is a plus
