Duties/Responsibilities:
Primary – Plumbing, Piping & Brazing
- Install, fabricate, and assemble piping systems for commercial HVAC/R equipment, including refrigerant, condensate, hydronic, gas, and black iron piping systems as required
- Cut, thread, and install black iron pipe for gas and hydronic applications in accordance with code and project specifications
- Perform brazing and soldering of piping systems following proper purge, heating, and safety procedures
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and installation plans
- Ensure piping installations are properly supported, insulated, labeled, and pressure-tested
- Maintain high-quality standards to ensure systems are leak-free, code-compliant, and installation-ready
HVAC Installation Support & System Start-Up
- Assist with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment according to safety requirements, company standards, and manufacturer specifications
- Install hoods, vents, ductwork, refrigerant lines, and related HVAC components in commercial environments
- Support equipment setting, piping connections, and final system assembly

Assist with standard system start-up activities and verification of proper basic system operation, including:
- Pressure testing and evacuation
- Refrigerant charging support
- Leak detection and correction
- Verifying airflow, temperatures, and basic operational performance
- Work alongside senior technicians or start-up personnel to support proper system start-up and identify issues requiring escalation
- Perform general installation support tasks as needed to assist with project schedules and workload demands
Work Quality, Safety & Efficiency
- Produce quality workmanship while completing projects on time and within budget
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site in compliance with company procedures, rules, and regulations
- Use hand tools, power tools, torches, and jobsite equipment safely and effectively
- Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies at all times
Communication, Learning & Reporting
- Complete standard job duties independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively with the installation team
- Communicate jobsite needs, challenges, and scope changes to Project Managers or Foremen
- Accurately report time, materials, and equipment usage within the field service management software
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new programs, skills, and installation methods through training and peer support
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable codes, company procedures, and installation practices
- Identify routine installation issues independently and communicate non-routine or complex issues to leadership for guidance.
Customer & Company Representation
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients
- Represent the company professionally while on job sites and in customer facilities
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business and project needs
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to solve routine jobsite and installation issues and communicate effectively with team members.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to apply training, follow instructions, and recognize when to escalate non-routine issues..
Education and Experience:
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC/R piping, mechanical installation, plumbing, brazing, or a related field preferred
- Commercial HVAC/R piping or mechanical installation experience preferred
- General construction or mechanical background strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC/R systems, piping materials, installation practices, and standard jobsite safety requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, rooftops, attics, and varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.).
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tools, wiring, and small components.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment with training.
- Visual and auditory ability necessary to identify equipment issues and communicate clearly with clients and team members.
- Must be able to drive and maintain a valid driver’s license for travel to job sites.
