Duties/Responsibilities:
Field Support
- Assist technicians with identifying, locating, and preparing parts needed for jobs
- Support basic parts research under guidance to ensure correct materials are provided
- Stage and organize materials for upcoming jobs
- Deliver parts and materials to technicians in the field, including travel to job sites (e.g., Gaylord) as needed
- Communicate status updates on parts availability and deliveries to technicians and internal team members
Logistics & Inventory Support
- Assist with loading and unloading HVAC/R equipment, parts, and materials
- Receive incoming shipments and verify accuracy, condition, and completeness
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse/storage areas
- Assist with tracking inventory transactions, including issuing and returning parts
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory activities
- Assist in inventory management, including counting trucks and maintaining accurate records.
- Handle parts replenishment to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Check parts in for service and maintenance to ensure timely processing.
- Process and track site-to-site inventory transfers, including truck-to-truck and truck-to-warehouse movements.
- Coordinate with warranty functions to support timely billing and payment processing.
- Work closely with Accounting to support accurate inventory records, reconciliation, and related inventory processes.
Purchasing & Administrative Support
- Assist with creating purchase orders and tracking orders under supervision
- Support documentation of deliveries, inventory, and order activity
- Coordinate with vendors and internal team members as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and customer service efficiency
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
- Basic verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable using mobile devices and basic computer systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior warehouse, delivery, or trades experience is a plus but not required
- Interest in learning HVACR parts and field support operations preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 75 pounds regularly, including HVACR parts, tools, and equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and crouching.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed).
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions while loading/unloading freight or delivering parts to job sites.
- Ability to climb ladders or access elevated areas when needed.
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts, tools, and packaging materials.
- Visual acuity to read labels, part numbers, and inventory documentation.
- Ability to drive company vehicles for deliveries, sometimes over long distances or in urban traffic.
The Field Support Specialist I is an entry-level role that supports field operations by assisting with parts coordination, inventory handling, logistics, and related administrative support. This position reports to the Customer Service Manager and works closely with field technicians and Accounting to ensure timely access to parts and materials, accurate inventory records, and efficient support of field operations. This hands-on role is designed to build foundational knowledge in HVAC/R parts, purchasing, inventory processes, and field support operations.
