What are the responsibilities and job description for the Live in Motel Manager position at Grand Traverse Motel?
SEASONAL winter position.
Seventeen room, seasonal, independent motel in a resort town on Lake Michigan is looking for a live-in/ resident motel manager for the off-season from now until May.
No smoking, no pets.
One room, on-site furnished apartment is provided for the off-season, along with all utilities, high speed internet, and cable television. The apartment is a small, with access to a large and private outdoor space. Motel is in an excellent location to live and work, walk to beach, restaurants, and the city center. Motel is open year round, but is also seasonal, with very limited office hours and work from November until mid-May.
There are housekeepers on staff, however, the manager does need to be able to clean a rooms There is a full-time and on-call maintenance person, but manager should be able to move a roll-away bed into a room, unplug a toilet, reset a cable box, or change a light bulb.
Resident Motel Manager Position Requirements:
* Cover office from 6pm to 10pm, 5 evenings.
* Generally be on site for a reasonable amount of time after hours.
* Take after hours urgent phone calls and issues.
* Excel in hospitality customer service.
* Keep the motel secure overnight by addressing and de-escalating guest issues, being aware of activity on the property, working well with other staff.
* Reasonable computer skills.
* Experience in hospitality or similar industry preferred.
* Ability and willingness to multi-task.
*Some housekeeping required.
