What are the responsibilities and job description for the County Highway Engineer position at Grand Traverse County Road Commission?
Live and work in beautiful Northern Michigan! The Grand Traverse County Road Commission (GTCRC) is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a background in roads and/or traffic. This position will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure that keeps our community moving.
GTCRC is a progressive and professional organization that utilizes innovation and GIS technology to obtain data and make decisions about road infrastructure. The Engineering Team at GTCRC includes a project engineer, surveyor, engineering technicians, and the permits department.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking someone to collaborate with multiple departments within the organization. The ideal candidate will be motivated by managing multiple projects, solving problems with their team and outside contractors, and creating safe and efficient road designs and plans.
- Graduate with an Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience in road design and construction management, and knowledge of MDOT standards
