What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Pool Attendant (Part-Time Seasonal) Summer 2026 position at Grand Targhee Resort?
SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for the outdoors and bringing a high quality of customer service to Grand Targhee’s outdoor pool this summer. As a member of the Guest Services team, you will greet guests as they arrive at the pool, verify their access for the day, or sell them a pass at the door. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Check in all pool users including members, lodging guests, punch pack users, day guests, and swim lesson guests.
- Manage payments, keep a balanced till, and oversee guest accounts within the POS system.
- Provide a great Guest Experience while ensuring and upholding the safety and security of the pool area and enforcing pool and resort regulations.
- Perform hourly housekeeping tasks around the pool area.
- Monitor and use a radio as the primary method of communication.
- Monitor weather and be prepared to manage pool closures and evacuation.
- Partner with the Guest Services team and support when needed.
- Take initiative to solve guest concerns and complete tasks.
- Partner with facilities and security team on any facility or guest related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
- Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This is a part-time position with an average of 30 hours a week. This includes weekends and holidays, and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on business levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or some high school education preferred. Previous experience in Guest Services, Hospitality, and/or lifeguarding preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English required. In addition, Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to the elements. Employees will work at a desk kiosk next to the outdoor pool to check guests in for their reservations and sell tickets as needed. In this role, you will be working independently with support from the Guest Services team.
