SUMMARY
Operates a plow or tractor to remove snow and ice from parking and other designated areas, ensuring areas remain safe and accessible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides accessible and safe parking/walking area by removing snow and ice, delivering and placing aggregate.
- Maintains equipment by checking and replenishing fluids and requesting minor repairs.
- Efficiently operates equipment by becoming familiar with obstacles and following safety guidelines.
- Follows Resort Etiquette Guidelines and provides excellent customer service to both internal and external guests.
- Acts as a team player and contributes to team effort by arriving to work on time and anticipating and accomplishing tasks.
- May occasionally shovel snow.
- Must have reliable form of transportation to and from work.
- Some job sharing may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Work performed on day and/or night shifts. Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Some mechanical experience preferred. Heavy equipment operating experience preferred. One-week of training offered.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold temperatures. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be exposed to cold, wet, and icy outdoor conditions if asked to shovel snow.
