What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vision Therapist position at Grand Strand Vision Services?
A Vision Therapist is a specialized professional dedicated to treating a range of visual disorders that can affect people of all ages. Therapists use various non-invasive treatments to improve visual functions such as eye coordination, focusing ability, and binocular vision. Their role is crucial in addressing conditions including amblyopia (commonly known as lazy eye), strabismus (where the eyes do not properly align), and convergence insufficiency, where the eyes struggle to work together while focusing on close objects.
Instead of relying solely on prescription glasses or contact lenses, vision therapists incorporate techniques like eye exercises, specialized optical devices, and tailored visual activities designed to re-train the eyes and the brain to work in harmony. Through customized treatment plans, they aim to enhance a patient’s overall visual performance, which can subsequently improve academic performance, sports abilities, and daily life activities. By fostering better visual skills, these professionals contribute significantly to a patient’s quality of life, enabling them to navigate their world with greater ease and confidence.
Grand Strand Vision Services is growing, and we are looking for our next vision therapist. As a vision therapist you would have the opportunity to work with patients of all ages to help them learn how to use their visual system more efficiently.

It is imperative our next team member has a love of learning. If you come with an understanding of early child development, it is helpful in your training process but not required.
