Grand River Medical Associates is a Family Internal Medicine office consisting of a Physician owner and a Nurse Practitioner. We are in search of a flexible, part-time to full-time employee. Position will be part-time initially 2 days per week with the possibility to expand to 3 or 4 days based on business needs, and eventually evolve to permanent, full-time, 4 days per week. The office currently works a 4-day work week, Mon-Tues, Thu-Fri, and closed on Wednesdays. Anticipated start date would be June 2, 2025
Responsibilities:
- MA tasks: Room patients and record vitals, history and medications in the EMR, administer EKGs, prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines/injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Use medical terminology to accurately document patient information and communicate with providers.
- Provide excellent patient service: answering phones, addressing inquiries, providing accurate information.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees.
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed.
- Assist with other administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care is a must
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist preferred.
- Previous experience as an MA preferred. Completion/graduation from an MA certificate program a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic life support procedures.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) and other medical office software. Prior experience with ATHENA EHR is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage patient records accurately.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
