POSITION TITLE: Evergreen Kids Care Program Coordinator
BUILDING: Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School Evergreen (EG)
SCHEDULE: Position begins in August 2026, 37–40 hours/week, full year, hourly per GRCS support staff rate
REPORTS TO: GRCES Evergreen Campus Early Learning Center Program Administrator, GRCES Licensee Designee
COORDINATES WITH: GRCES Evergreen Building Principal, Early Learning Center (ELC) Administrative Assistant, Educational Support Services Executive Director and Inclusion Coordinators, GRCES, Iroquois, Preschool and Kids Care Administrative Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
The Evergreen Kids Care Coordinator supports the mission of Grand Rapids Christian Schools by helping create a Christ-centered, safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
This position supports the daily operations and licensing compliance of the Evergreen Campus Kids Care and Early Learning programs. The Evergreen Kids Care Program Coordinator partners closely with the Early Learning Center Program Administrator to develop and supervise high-quality before-school and after-school programs for preschool through fourth-grade students while ensuring compliance with state childcare licensing requirements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Kids Care Program
Hire and onboard before-care and after-care staff in partnership with the ELC Program Administrator
Coordinate and manage daily components of the Kids Care program, including:
Group rosters
Staff schedules
Daily routines
Parent communication
Budget and billing support
Supervise staff and children to ensure active supervision and licensing compliance
Support the development of engaging, age-appropriate programming and activities
Administrative & Licensing Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and current Kids Care staff and student files to ensure licensing compliance
Support staff in completing and tracking required training through MiRegistry and staff files
Assist with documentation, organization, and record-keeping related to licensing and program operations
Support the overall organization and daily functioning of the Kids Care program
Classroom Support
Serve as a servant leader and qualified lead teacher supporting teachers and children across ELC and preschool classrooms
Follow a float schedule to provide classroom coverage, maintain required teacher-to-child ratios, support staff lunch breaks, and substitute as needed
Partner with classroom staff to help ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality care for children
Serve as the designated “staff-in-charge” when the ELC Program Administrator is off campus
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or associate's degree in a child-related field or a Child Development Associate (CDA)
Relevant early childhood teaching and/or administrative experience
Communicates effectively verbally and in writing
Clerical experience preferred - filing, keyboarding, database, accounting, planning, organizing, and accuracy
Committed to continued annual training requirements
