The Maintenance Technician I performs all general facility maintenance under minimum supervision in a manner which ensures the preservation of optimum quality and efficient production. Perform service requests and repairs as directed. Perform maintenance work for make-ready units as directed. Clean and inspect in building systems and report deficiencies to supervisor. Adhere to the company’s safety programs.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Apply basic knowledge of repair and replacement of general fixtures, general repair includes: doors, windows, walls, flooring, ceilings, roofs, furniture, and cabinetry. (45% time)
- Perform general painting throughout the resort. (10% time)
- Apply general working knowledge of appliance and repair. (5% time)
- Apply general working knowledge of in room maintenance. (15% time)
- Clean and maintain outside landscape: including emptying trash, pick up of trash, general landscape work and ashtray cleanliness. (5% time)
- Fundamental knowledge of electronic lock systems and electronic devices.(5% time)
- Complete all necessary work orders and inventory requirements. (10% time)
- Performs other duties as needed. (5% time)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education
- High school or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 years of related work experience
Training requirements
- Basic maintenance training 1-2 years
- Basic landscape training 1-2 years
- Basic pool maintenance 1-2 years
Knowledge and skills
- Ability to complete work orders
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, guests and owners.
- Ability to maintain composure under high pressure environments
Computer and Technical Skills
- Basic working knowledge of computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet) and ability to use phones and radio handset.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The individual must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and be deemed eligible by company insurance to operate company insured motor vehicles or golf cart (SC Law requires a driver’s license to operation a golf cart).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Will be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, walk stairs, climb ladders and operate office machinery. Must be able to lift up to as well as carry equipment weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Specific work assignments may change without notice. WORKING CONDITIONS
The majority of work will be performed in a climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperature on occasion.
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
Schedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work outside of departmental operating hours.
