Compensation:
$68,000 - $72,000
Responsibilities:- Ensure once all information is gathered that it is accurate, compliance standards are met, and it is in congruence with company policies
- Review all mortgage applications and supporting documents to ensure all necessary information is included for approval
- Conduct a thorough search of clients’ financial and employment history to ensure accuracy of application and documents
- Document in detail reasons for approving or rejecting a loan for our loan officers and clients
- Request additional information as needed on all documents to help determine loan risk
- Perform underwriting due diligence, including analyzing loan packages, working with loan officers and clients in collecting information, conducting independent research and verifications, studying and analyzing professional third-party reports such as appraisal and environmental reports, conducting site inspections
- Prepare credit write-ups
- Work with the Document Department in loan closing
- Prepare loan extension or other amendment write-ups
- Review and monitor loans post-closing
- Prepare departmental forms, reports, and notices
- Provide client services
- Familiarity with home loans and residential mortgages such as FHA, USDA, VA, conventional loan guidelines, and loan products
- Knowledgeable in automated underwriting systems and Microsoft office
- Excellent decision-making and communication skills
- At least 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience or mortgage lending experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in commercial loan underwriting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrates good communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
