Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for optimizing costs in manufacturing? We're looking for a Cost Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the production of high-quality upholstered furniture. In this role, you will be responsible for cost engineering initiatives, developing and maintaining bills of materials, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Cost Analysis and Improvement: Analyze cost comparisons and identify opportunities for cost savings. You'll recommend and implement methods to improve worker efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. This includes restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, and optimizing plant layouts.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Set up and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) files, packing specifications, law tag information, and customer SKU files.
- New Product Development: Coordinate with cross-functional teams—including purchasing, sales, engineering, and manufacturing—on the development and upholstering of new furniture frames.
- Process Optimization: Establish and maintain incentive standards and standard data, ensuring our production processes are as efficient as possible.
- Collaboration: Partner with management and engineering staff to develop and implement plans and recommendations that improve overall productivity and profitability.
- Experience: Prior experience in an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with AS400 or JDE software is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills are essential. You must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management and team members.
