What are the responsibilities and job description for the Little Comets Preschool Teacher Assistant position at Grand Ledge Public Schools?
This position is a Teacher's Assistant position in a general education, tuition based, licensed preschool classroom. The opening is within a full day preschool classroom working with 3-5 year old's. Daily duties include serving breakfast to students, warmly greeting families each morning, cleaning, assisting with small group lessons and classroom management. The hours of this position are M-F 12:00 pm - 5:55 pm.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of all children through constant supervision
Engage in activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children in the program,
based on their individual development
Assist with classroom management
Discuss children’s development and communicate with families daily
Deliver small group lessons that introduce early math and literacy concepts
Child Assessment support
Build children’s self-esteem
Comfort children
Encourage independence
Establish routines and provide positive guidance
Participate in staff meetings, community and school activities, and professional development
Assist with copying and preparing materials and centers
File, organize, wash toys, and disinfect surfaces
Replace teacher, when needed
