What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler position at Grand Lake Health System?
Hours of Job
- Full Time - Hours vary between 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- No Weekends or Holidays Required
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Works under the supervision of the Manager or designee and is responsible for performing the clerical and receptionist functions of the Work Area.
- Supports the Professional Practice & Caring Model Principles practiced at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
- Focuses on the ability to perform and coordinate office activities and ensure that information is disseminated in a timely manner to staff and participants.
- Acts as the focus of communication regarding all staff, physicians, patient care activities, family, and visitor requests.
- May be required to work variable hours. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrate good verbal skills to communicate clearly and tactfully as well as demonstrate an outgoing and courteous manner.
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, families, and co-workers.
- Ability to work hours varying between 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Education/Certifications
- Must be a High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience
- Must be comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Database management programs and basic PC knowledge while being proficient in keyboarding, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is also preferred.
- Previous experience is preferred but not required.
