What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN or RN - Casual position at Grand Lake Health System?
Hours of Job
- Casual employment working 12 hour shifts as needed based on departmental needs.
- May float to work areas as needed, including Med Surg, Inpatient Psychiatric, Transitional Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency Department.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Complete nursing assessments of patients and document them appropriately in patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health team members in developing a Plan of Care.
- Implement and document clinical and technical Aspects of Care.
- Evaluate the patient’s response to the Plan of Care and update the Plan of Care.
- Assume a lead role in Patient/Family teaching.
- Initiate, manage, and participate in the Discharge Planning Process.
- Establish a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family.
Requirements
- May be required to work other patient care units or shifts according to the distribution of staff, patients, and/or patient acuity.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
Education/Certifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed RN or LPN. BSN preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
