Position Summary — The Shipping & Receiving clerk is responsible for coordinating, inspecting, and verifying all incoming and outgoing shipments.  This position completes the appropriate paperwork and is responsible for accurately maintaining all inventory logs through an inventory management software. Deliver and picks up items when requested by Casino departments, if available, from various off-site locations with General Manager approval.

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 

• Utilize email and multi-line phone systems.   

• Utilize computer and inventory software for data entry, searches, and generating reports. 

• Maintain company shipping database and file all documents as required. 

• Prepare for outgoing shipments by determining the most efficient shipping method, selecting the appropriate container, and creating a shipping label with the appropriate postage.    

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments by comparing the information on packing slip to purchase order.   

• Report any damages, defects, or missing items and make a record of the incident. 

• Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain signatures for accepted items.   

• Operate hand truck, appliance dolly, floor dolly and other moving equipment. 

• Responsible for organization of all storage and stock areas  

• Responsible for maintaining Casino inventory of fixed assets and promotional items. 

• Responsible for physical monthly Casino inventories including Lodge and submitting to finance department. 

• Maintains logs and inventory of controlled Casino forms/month end inventory. 

Qualifications   

• High school diploma or G.E.D. 

• Previous shipping & Receiving and/or warehouse inventory experience preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

• Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with vendors and staff, including responding to inquiries and complaints with professionalism. 

• Ability to multitask and work as part of the team and to promote a cooperative approach between departments. 

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to adapt.  

• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions. 

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers. 

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Physical Requirements — Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs., climb, bend, squat, kneel, and use hands for extended periods. 

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights. 

Special Working Conditions — Position requires flexibility to work any shift including weekends and holidays, in any weather conditions.
