Key Responsibilities
- Provide compelling and accurate live play-by-play commentary for all Grand Junction River Hawks home and away games.
- Engage the audience with insightful analysis, storytelling, and real-time updates throughout broadcasts.
- Conduct pre-game, intermission, and post-game interviews with coaches, players, and team personnel.
- Collaborate closely with the broadcast production team, media relations, and team staff to ensure seamless game coverage.
- Contribute to the creation of additional content, such as player features, team news, and promotional announcements.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the Grand Junction River Hawks organization with integrity at all times.
- Manage and integrate relevant statistics and historical data into broadcasts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Play by Play Announcer, with a strong preference for hockey or other professional sports.
- Exceptional verbal communication and articulation skills, with a clear and energetic delivery style.
- In-depth knowledge of hockey rules, strategies, and player dynamics.
- Ability to improvise and react quickly to live game situations.
- Familiarity with broadcast equipment and software is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills for conducting interviews and working collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
- A demo reel or portfolio of previous play-by-play work is suggested.
Compensation
This is a contracted position. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, discussed during the interview process.
