About the Position
- Pharmacy Technician
- Part-time .7-1.0 FTE (56-80 hours per pay period)
- 12-hour shifts, Days, Evenings, Every 6th Weekend

Job Summary:
Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the medication inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work directly under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Here's what you'll do when you join us:
- Prepare and compound drug products and intravenous solutions for pharmacist approval.
- Retrieve and deliver physician orders to the pharmacist for initiation of drug distribution process.
- Deliver and document distribution of narcotics and controlled substances to patient care areas.
- Prepare, deliver, and restock automated drug dispensing system.
- Compound and prepare intravenous drugs and solutions utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Reconcile, charge, and credit patient accounts for drug and intravenous solutions used during hospital admission.
- Maintain stock and inventory of drugs in the pharmacy and on the floor.
- Answer and direct phone calls to the pharmacist or supervisor.
If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous hospital/retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain within one year. Maintain required Continuing Education for CPhT certification.
- Pharmacy Technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Adhere to requirements of the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for pharmacy technicians.
- Fantastic math skills with the ability to prepare and formulate pharmaceutical products. Demonstrate knowledge of the metric system.
- Great written and spoken communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Operate personal computer hardware, application software, and basic typing skills.
- Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of Grand Itasc Clinic and Hospital. Demonstrate participation in Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital Mission, Values, and Vision.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
