Job Overview
The Grand Isle Supervisory Union is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Part-Time Courier to transport inter-school mail, documents, and materials across Grand Isle County. This position offers a flexible 2-hour daily schedule during regular school and office operating hours.
Key Responsibilities
Complete daily scheduled route stops to collect and deliver inter-district mail, administrative paperwork, and educational materials to district schools:
Alburgh Community Education Center
North Hero Elementary School / GISU Central Office
Grand Isle School
Folsom Education & Community Center (South Hero)
Make periodic, occasional stops at local town halls, post offices, and financial institutions.
Ensure secure, prompt, and confidential handling of all school district paperwork and packages.
Track and submit accurate daily mileage logs for reimbursement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Vehicle & Driver Status: Must have a reliable personal motor vehicle, valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and current registration.
Driving Record: Must possess a clean driving record free of major moving violations or suspensions.
Background Clearance: Must successfully complete fingerprinting and criminal background checks in compliance with Vermont Statute for school district personnel.
Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload boxes, tubs, or mail bags weighing up to 35 lbs.
Skills: Punctual, self-directed, reliable, and capable of operating independently with minimal daily supervision.
Compensation & Schedule
Hourly pay scale: $20.61 to $26.66 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Mileage reimbursement provided for all work-related driving.
Flexible 2-hour daily shift scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
