Commercial Electrician

Position Summary:

The Electrician is responsible for maintaining electrical systems in commercial buildings. Duties include installing or replacing wiring and other electrical components, troubleshooting electrical issues to handle repairs and communicating with clients to establish job details and related costs. Performs a variety of installations, troubleshooting and repair tasks on electrical systems. The duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the scope of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams
• Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools
• Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers and other electrical devices
• Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems in homes and businesses
• Adhering to state and local building regulations
• Completing work orders on time
• Documenting the work completed and materials used
• Working with other electricians, general contractors, architects and other team members

Qualifications:

• Journeyman License preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a variety of electrical situations
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Strong understanding of wiring, circuits and other electrical components
• Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective time management
• Strong work ethic
• Understanding of local and national codes, regulations and safety procedures
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
