Position Summary: Civil Inspector
· Manage and perform field work civil inspections completing them 3 months ahead of due dates (understand the exceptions)
· Recognize civil inspections in advance that require engineers’ involvement (i.e. Coker octagon inspection)
· Utilize IMS (inspection management software system) and submit ECH’s and CAIR’s independently,
· Run queries for upcoming schedules, create quality CAIRs (Corrective Action Inspection Requests) and draw up details for repair instructions using AutoCAD
Key Responsibilities:
· Knowledge to write multiple CAIR’s when associated with different equipment or different sections of the unit (i.e. performs a unit exchanger concrete pedestal inspection, if there are 3 different exchangers requiring pedestal repairs, then potentially write 3 different CAIRs)
· Solid technical writing skills: clarity, correct grammar
· Ability and knowledge to ensure civil inspection intervals are properly set
Qualifications:
· AutoCAD experience required
· Prior experience as a civil structural designer required
· Associates degree in Drafting & Designing Technology preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.
· Exposure to outdoors
· Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
