Position Title:

STS Kindergarten Teacher

Anticipated Employment Date:

April 13, 2026 to June 26, 2026

Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

Sidway Elementary, 8:35 AM to 3:35 PM

Salary:

Per diem $170 with increase/retroactive to collective bargaining agreement after 40 days.

Duties:

• Plan and execute meaningful and engaging lessons for students, including those with disabilities.

• Work in collaboration with the special education teacher as this is an ICT classroom.

• Implement consistent classroom management strategies.

• Meet and plan with the grade level team to ensure cohesive instruction.

• Communicate and collaborate with families.

• Provide a classroom environment that ensures safety and one where every child feels empowered, engaged and has a sense of belonging.

• Use data to inform instruction

Minimum Qualifications:

1. NYS certification in Early Childhood Education B-2 or Pre K-6 required.

2. Possess deep understanding of instruction in the Next Generation Standards & Common Core.

3. Familiarity working with students with disabilities.

4. Ability to use Data Driven Instruction to improve student achievement.

5. Ability to cooperate and collaborate with grade level team, special area teachers.

6. Strong use of technology to support professional responsibilities; ability to integrate technology into instruction.

7. Strong written and oral communication skills. 10. Strong work ethic; ability to collaborate with team/school.

8. Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Qualifications Desired:

Experience with using a reading program and assessment systems.
