GGE is seeking highly qualified Program Coordinators to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Policy in the coordination, implementation, and execution of regional cooperative initiatives and strategic international security efforts. This position offers the opportunity to directly support critical U.S. national security and defense cooperation objectives across global regions.
Position OverviewThe Program Coordinator will provide subject matter expertise and programmatic support for regional and strategic initiatives involving security cooperation, defense policy, and international engagement activities. Candidates must possess strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills and be capable of operating effectively within a highly collaborative interagency environment.
This role requires close coordination with senior representatives from:
- Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Policy offices
- Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA)
- Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA)
- Joint Staff and Geographic Combatant Commands
- Military Departments
- Department of State
- U.S. Embassy personnel
- Allied and partner nation representatives
- Other U.S. Government agencies
- Coordinate and support the execution of regional cooperative initiatives and strategic international engagements.
- Analyze complex regional security issues and provide recommendations supporting U.S. strategic objectives.
- Independently manage and oversee bilateral and multilateral defense cooperation programs and engagements.
- Develop high-quality briefing materials, white papers, reports, executive summaries, and other professional documentation for senior leadership.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate interagency and international events, conferences, and strategic engagements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Department of Defense, interagency community, and international partners to ensure synchronized program execution.
- Support policy development, strategic planning, and program management activities related to international security cooperation efforts.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in:
- International Affairs/Relations
- Political Science
- National Security
- Security Studies
- Public Policy
- Or a directly related field
Note: A Master’s or Doctoral degree in one of the specified fields may substitute for an unrelated Bachelor’s degree.
Security Clearance- Active Top Secret Clearance required
- SCI eligibility required
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in two or more of the following areas:
- Analyzing complex regional security issues
- Executing international security cooperation or defense initiatives
- Managing regional, bilateral, and/or multilateral strategic programs
- Drafting professional defense or security-related documents for senior leaders
- Coordinating and facilitating interagency international events and engagements
- Experience supporting OSD Policy, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, or other national security organizations
- Familiarity with security cooperation processes and defense policy frameworks
- Strong understanding of international relations and geopolitical dynamics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks in fast-paced environments
