Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment and facilities within manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in facilities maintenance, welding, and electrical systems. Leadership qualities and supervisory experience are a plus, as this position may involve overseeing maintenance projects and guiding junior team members. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance across our facilities.
Duties
- Maintain all equipment in safe and efficient operating condition.
- Responsible for overseeing maintenance activities at the plants and warehouse.
- Operate under master sanitation plans, cGMPs, and compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point policies.
- Perform administrative computer tasks as needed.
- Perform routine building maintenance.
- Respond to off-hours calls with little/no notice.
- Team oriented
- Inform management with uptime/downtime issues
- Deal with operating personnel daily
- Work with external contractors, coordinating work and plant schedules
- Cross training of other duties in plant
- All other duties assigned by management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing environments, or related fields.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting with ohmmeters and working with PLCs is highly desirable.
- Welding skills for fabrication and repair tasks preferred
- Supervising or leadership experience in maintenance roles is advantageous
- Work order management and record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively document issues and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles to support internal clients effectively.
- Thorough understanding of food plant sanitation methods, materials and documentation.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft office applications.
- Forklift operation. (after certification)
- Ability to quickly and effectively trouble shoot mechanical problems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable and reliable.
- High School or equivalent.
- Drivers License.
