Role Description: The 3D Character Animator role is a remote position focused on bringing game characters to life through animation. Day-to-day tasks include creating high-quality character animations for gameplay and cinematics, collaborating with designers and artists to define movement style. The animator will refine animation loops, polish transitions, and rig models. This role also involves participating in reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess strong 3D animation skills, including character Animation and Storyboarding for gameplay and narrative sequences.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with Autodesk Maya/ Blender for character setup, keyframe animation, and scene management.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, weight, acting) and experience working within real-time game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal) is beneficial.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and attention to detail when implementing feedback.
- A portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant 3D character animation work is required and familiarity with version control tools (Diversion, Git, etc.) are advantageous.
