Grand Coulee Dam School District has an opening for a 2.25 hours Secondary Native American Language Teacher.

 

*Our district doesn't have sign on bonuses, but our district serves low-income families. Because of this there is a loan forgiveness program that if you teach full-time for five complete and consecutive academic years and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible for forgiveness of up to a combined total of $17,500 on your Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans and your Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans.   • Instruct students using various teaching methods such as lecture and demonstration and use of technology aids and other materials to supplement instruction Follow curriculum guidelines and requirements of the State and District
  • Take a professional approach to the planning, preparation and organization of lessons and activities
  • Maintain appropriate assessment records, data collection and monitoring information
  • Prepare grade level objectives and outlines for units of study Ensure that the quality of teaching and learning in lessons is of the highest possible quality
  • Maintain high expectations of students to ensure that teaching approaches and materials are commensurate with their capability, so that the optimum standard of achievement is reached
  • Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches and keep abreast of contemporary educational issues
  • Assign lessons and correct homework and tests.
  • Evaluate student progress, record results and communicate with parents as needed.
  • Keep accurate attendance records
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of secondary level students
  • Knowledge of academic, social, and behavioral characteristics of secondary level students
  • Knowledge of educational curriculum and instructional goals and objectives, and educational trends and research findings pertaining to comprehensive secondary programming
  • Maintain discipline and order with the school setting and report serious infractions to the administration
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings
  • Perform related duties, as assigned by the Principal
  • Must hold a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate
  • Must meet the NCLB requirements for Highly Qualified
  • Must pass a valid Washington State Background Check

 

This position has paid sick and personal leave, per CBA

Salaries posted are for Full Time teachers, pay will be pro rated based on number of hours

 

 

 

 

 

Salary : $50,949 - $96,030
