Job Summary
Grand Coteau Retreats is seeking a skilled Cook to support our Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nourishing meals to our retreat guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, a deep appreciation for hospitality, and the ability to work in a peaceful, retreat-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing meals for retreat guests, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
- Take direction well from Head Chef
- Lead shifts when Head Chef is not present.
- Prepare meals that accommodate dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-sensitive options.
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and food storage to minimize waste and control costs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and supervise kitchen assistants or volunteers as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in a professional kitchen ideally in a catering or buffet style operation.
- Strong knowledge food prep, and kitchen safety.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and faith-centered environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
