The Opportunity
Responsible for successful operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes, keeping the grounds groomed and maintained. Successfully maintain and repair all mechanical equipment, appliances, and ensure property aesthetics remain at set standards, in accordance with the Mission and Objectives of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures.
What You Get to Do
- Centralized utilization for Eddy’s Resort and Grand Casino Mille Lacs venues.
- Responsible for the safe operation of equipment used to maintain the grounds.
- Responsible for advising supervisors of potentially hazardous conditions on any pedestrian surface to optimize the safety of Guests and Associates.
- Ensure that all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment are used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as outlined in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
- Maintain strict adherence to all OSHA safety rules and regulations.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned and responds to work orders daily.
- Responsible for repair and routine maintenance and replacements necessary in assigned areas, accountable for cleanliness and overall condition of the property and grounds. This can and does include docks, lake access ramps and fish cleaning area/building.
- Maintain all mechanical equipment in working condition; maintain parts inventory stock and replenish as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance of building components and mechanical equipment, and update replacement inventory as needed.
- Perform special refinishing tasks including surface preparation, sanding, mudding, taping, caulking, staining, sealing, and texturing.
- Apply wall coverings, paint, stain, and sealers to interior and/or exterior surfaces.
- Perform general and finish carpentry working the alteration, repair, and maintenance of structures throughout the property.
- Safely use a variety of carpenter hand, power, and shop tools and maintain them in proper operating condition.
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
- Interact with Guests and other departments in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area in the maintenance shop.
- Respond to Guest requests in a timely manner. Notify management of incidents or conflicts that affect normal business operation or Guest services.
- Maintain parking lots and sidewalk to be free from potholes, cracks, and snow.
- Responsible for the care, upkeep, and setting up of fish houses. It will include things like working on fish house heaters, cleaning after rental, prepping for new rental, drilling ice holes, answering guest questions, maintaining full propane tanks, and anything else related to fish house rental.
- Responsible for the preparation, planting, and maintenance of all plant beds within the complex and outlying properties.
- Utilize maintenance techniques, including the ability to identify and treat plants for pests and diseases.
- Required to operate company vehicles and maintenance equipment.
- Remove trash and debris on grounds complex daily.
- Hand shoveling as snow conditions demand, and plow equipment as conditions demand.
- Maintain consistent complex mowing practices.
- Operate irrigation systems, fertilizer spreaders, ground aerators, debris blowers, string trimmers, utility carts, and loaders.
- Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily. Ensures that the equipment cooling systems is working at all times, equipment is greased, and reports equipment problems or failures to Management immediately.
- Return all equipment to the designated location.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are related to this role.

What Qualifies You
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year commercial experience in landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal preferred.
- One (1) year of Resort maintenance preferred.
- Must have a valid MN Driver’s License and be insurable under Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures policy.
- Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
- Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
- Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
