This role provides an exciting opportunity to support students pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in education, including programs in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, TESOL, and special education.
Responsibilities
- Location Requirement: Must reside in or be within driving distance of Quincy, MI.
- Site Visits: There will be a total of 4 site visits with each student teacher candidate per semester.
- Professional Development: Offer valuable feedback on the Teacher Candidate’s professional development and implementation of future educational plans.
- Foster Creativity and Responsibility: Encourage Teacher Candidates to take initiative, exercise creativity, and maintain a high level of responsibility throughout their student teaching experience.
- Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of Teacher Candidates' progress and performance.
- Evaluation Support: Provide insight into evaluation procedures and assist Teacher Candidates in understanding and navigating assessments.
- Build Relationships: Maintain a professional yet friendly rapport with both Teacher Candidates and Cooperating Teachers to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Education.
- A valid State Elementary Education Teaching Certificate or Licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Elementary Education teaching.
- A commitment to supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
