Position Summary:
Retail Grocery Cashiers are responsible for maintaining the retail grocery sales areas, utilizing POS systems to handle transactions, both cash/credit, and assisting in creating and maintaining a great shopping experience for all customers. They must also be able to answer questions from customers concerning Market operations and local area information. Cashiers Provide outstanding customer service at all times and assist in creating a loyal customer base. They assist with the inventory, restocking and cleanliness tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Typical retail grocery environment. May be required to lift 50 lb. merchandise boxes. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle cash and credit retail transactions using the POS system.
- Be responsible for assigned cash drawer and end-of-day balancing of cash and sales reports.
- Handle all transactions using proper cash control policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory and restocking, as directed.
- Assist with the overall cleanliness of the Market, as directed.
- Assist customers with questions they have concerning Market products and operations.
- Provide outstanding customer service and assist in creating a loyal customer base.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Experience in use of POS systems and handling cash and credit transactions while following proper cash handling policies and procedures.
- Ability to reconcile cash drawer and end of day sales reports.
- Knowledge in WIC, Food Stamp and other programs offered by the market.
- Ability to communicate well and interact with customers in a clear concise manner.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service by providing prompt, accurate, courteous and helpful information to customers.
- Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
- Knowledge of products offered in the Market.
- Knowledge of Hualapai Tourism, Hualapai history and culture.
- Prior experience working with a Point of Sales (POS) system or cash handling.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record preferred.
- Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
