All services operated by Xanterra, including lodging, dining, retail, and tour operations, are currently open and continue to operate as planned for the 2025 summer season. We’re hiring a Dishwasher Lead to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary

Lead in proper cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen including the dock area, which inludes receiving and stocking food orders.

The Details

Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay: $16.40 per hour

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for sanitation and maintenance of kitchen area including the back dock area.
• Proper storage and rotation of all perishable food items, and rotation of non-perishables as well using the first in, first out rotation practice.
• Keep back dock orderly and clean, stack milk crates, bread cases, empty beer kegs, breakdown cardboard boxes, spray down dock as required.
• Ensure outside area of kitchen is clean and litter free.
• Do super cleaning of kitchen area including floors, mats, walls, hood filters and dish machines.
• Assist Kitchen Utility personnel as needed.
• Maintain ServeSafe HACCP food sanitation program standards.
• Wear required personal protective equipment while performing job.
• Adhere to all safety and risk management policies while performing job.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dishwashing and kitchen cleaning equipment
• Physical ability to lift thirty pounds to shoulder height
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Constantly able to stand and handle dishes, pots/pans, utensils and glassware for long periods of time.
• Frequently walk, reach outward, reach above the shoulder, climb, crawl, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry 10 lbs or less and up to 50 lbs, as well as push/pull 12 lbs or less and up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally sit, lift/carry 51 - 100 lbs and push/pull 41 - 100 lbs.
