Overview: As a resident enrichment professional at Grand Brook Memory Care, the Life Engagement Manager is responsible for the overall activities of community recreational services and is part of a team that strives to care for and support their residents and their families the same way they would care for their own loved ones.
Job Description: The Life Engagement Manager motivates, engages and inspires memory impaired residents with cognitive stimulation programs. Leading the resident engagement team this role assesses the social and recreational needs of each resident, creating programs that include memory enhancement, new learning, physical fitness, music, art appreciation, family engagement and community service projects and creates a fun and innovative recreational program for our residents.
Other tasks (not an all inclusive list) include:
- Oversees operation of the community during assigned Manager‐On‐Duty (MOD) rotation, addressing complaints and resolving issues in accordance with company policies and laws.
- Participates in assessments completed upon resident’s move‐in to accommodate the residents’ personal interests.
- Manages monthly account budgets, petty cash disbursements, Volunteer & Resident Programs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associates degree from an accredited college or university. State Qualified Activities Director required. Microsoft Suites proficiency.
- Experience: One year of Activity Director experience and required education; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months direct dementia care experience.
- Other: Must be energetic, outgoing and dedicated to serve seniors with passion and excellent customer service. Flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents, the ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional travel, evening, and weekend hours.
Ability to read, write, speak and interpret English. Must have a valid driver license, good driving record, and current auto insurance. Must meet all health requirements, including TB testing and pass company and state required background checks.
