Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (per the requirements established by the Genesee Intermediate District plan)
- Prefer successful experience in a program working with students with special education needs
- Demonstrate emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for managing students
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
- Become familiar with each student’s IEP and vocational objectives designed for the work site
- Communicate with the supervising teacher about job training sites consistently, including problems and concerns
- Maintain confidentiality about all personal information and educational records concerning students and their families
- Follow district policies for protecting the health, safety, and well-being of students
- Collect and record data about student performance
- Follow through with suggestions and procedures given by your supervising teacher
- Facilitate communication with employers, as appropriate
- Serve as a link between the school and the work site setting
- A job coach may assist with transporting students to and from job placements
- A job coach may also be a part of the student’s IEP planning team
- Participates in in-service training programs as assigned
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
