Job Description
Under the direction of the Building Principal and Special Education Coordinator, the Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities in Grades K-8; evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives; follows state-mandated due process procedures; and serves as IEP case manager for assigned students.

Employment Type: Part-Time (Hours/Days Negotiable) based on a Traditional School Calendar Schedule

Benefits
$45-$50 per hour (based on verifiable years of prior K-12 speech pathology)

Qualifications
Minimum Educational Requirements:
- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Licensure: Valid Michigan Speech Language Pathologist License.
- Credentials: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; clinical fellows (CFY) with strong school-based experience may be considered.
- Ability to provide leadership in educational planning.
- Ability to promote effective relationships with students, staff, and community.
- Evaluate & Diagnose: Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations to identify communication, articulation, and language disorders across K-8 student populations.
- Implement IEPs: Develop and execute measurable goals for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Deliver Targeted Therapy: Provide high-quality individual or small-group therapy sessions tailored to the developmental needs of both elementary and middle school students.
- Collaborate closely: Partner with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate communication strategies into the classroom and home.
- Track Progress: Maintain accurate, up-to-date treatment logs, data collection, and progress reports for student evaluations and IEP meetings.
- Maintain discipline and develop rapport with children of special needs.
- Maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Subject to a criminal records check as required by the Academy Board of Directors' policy and State Law.
