About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing products, managing supplier relationships, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate combines strong purchasing expertise with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

What You'll Do

Purchasing & Procurement

• Create and manage purchase orders for inventory, customer orders, operating supplies, and approved company requirements.
• Monitor purchase orders from placement through receipt to ensure timely delivery and accurate fulfillment.
• Review pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Manage changes, cancellations, and updates to purchasing commitments.
• Escalate pricing, inventory, or approval exceptions as needed.

Supplier Management

• Source new products and suppliers through quotes, competitive bids, and supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight terms, and other commercial agreements.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, and service issues.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Inventory Planning

• Analyze demand, forecasts, sales orders, inventory levels, and supplier lead times.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess stock and shortages.
• Support replenishment planning and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Identify and address inventory risks, shortages, and slow-moving inventory.

Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Logistics, Warehouse, Sales, and Accounting teams to support customer requirements.
• Resolve purchasing, shipment, receiving, pricing, and invoicing discrepancies.
• Support sourcing of custom and special-order products.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and cross-functional meetings.

Data, Reporting & Systems

• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the ERP system.
• Analyze purchasing and inventory information using Excel and reporting tools.
• Track key metrics including supplier performance, inventory requirements, open purchase orders, and purchase-price variances.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to support business decisions.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience working with cloud-based ERP/MRP systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
• 5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience.
• 3 years of ERP/MRP system experience.
• Experience with inventory planning, competitive sourcing, supplier management, and procurement reporting.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
