Job Summary

The Room Service Server will be primarily responsible for the service of food and/or beverage to include the order taking, delivery and clearing of any food and or beverage items. Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set up and cleanliness. Answers the phone and greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or promotions for guest awareness. Takes the order and inputs the order into Micros system to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order. Retrieves order from the kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests. Abide by all state, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team to consistently deliver a quality product.
  • Customer Service experience
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Tolerance of all cultures
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to handle objects, reach with arms and hands, stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time; Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance, pull, bend, stoop, and perform upward reaching for an extended period of time.

Job Duties

Job Specific

  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
  • Answer questions related to Menu selections.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Record transactions in MICROS system at time of order.
  • Check in with guest to ensure satisfaction with each food course and or beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, China, glass, etc., throughout the day
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items.
  • Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment

General

Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times.

Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance.

Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow Team Members

Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.

Complies with required safety regulations and procedures.

Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions.

Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area.

Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules.

Recycles whenever possible.

Remains current with hotel information and changes

Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards.

Within the first 30 days must be able to perform to standard all activities on the New Hire Training Checklist.
