BEACH ATTENDANT

The Beach Attendant is an important hospitality personnel who is responsible for ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable beach experience for hotel guests and the general public. The attendant should be neat and presentable with a warm and pleasant personality. They should be able to work on their feet for extended periods and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Their primary duties include but are not limited to, keeping the beach clean throughout the shift and before leaving each day. The attendant provides towels, chairs, and umbrella service for guests and the public for a fee.

They store all beach equipment at the end of each shift and issue or return used towels to the property while taking inventory at the beginning and end of each day. The attendant and/or manager also monitors all activity on the beach and reports any issues in a daily log to the property.

They participate in hotel staffing meetings when necessary and remain alert to safety hazards such as broken glass, frayed electrical cords, broken locks, and suspicious persons, which they report to security and/or their direct supervisor.

They practice safety standards at all times and report to work on time and according to the posted schedule. The attendant must remain courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers at all times.

They should have the ability to lift 50-75lbs and keep all areas free of debris and trash. They should also skim the pool and maintain all furniture in good repair while reporting any damage.

• Staffing of a hospitality-oriented beach attendant and/or manager on duty from 8am-5/6pm (or sundown, depending on the season) is subject to in-house hotel screening.

• The attendant should be neat & have a pleasant personality

• Attendant should have the ability to work on feet for an extended period of time

• Attendant should have the ability to communicate effectively (English & Spanish Preferred)

• The attendant rakes the beach to keep it clean throughout the shift and prior to leaving each day.

• Attendant provides towel, chair, & umbrella service for hotel guests and/or the public for a fee.

• Attendant stores beach equipment at the end of each shift

• Attendant issues & returns all used towels to the property at the end of each shift, taking inventory at the beginning and end of the day
• The attendant and/or manager monitors all activity on the beach and reports any/all issues to the property in a daily log

• Attendant and/or manager participates, when necessary, in hotel staffing meetings

• Attendant has constant awareness of safety hazards (broken glass, frayed electrical cords, broken locks, and suspicious persons) and reports to security and/or direct supervisor

• Attendant practices safety standards at all times

• Attendant reports to work on time and according to the posted schedule

• The attendant will remain alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and co-workers at all times.

• Attendant has the ability to lift 50-75lbs

• Attendant keeps all areas free of debris and trash. Skims the pool and keeps all furniture clean and in good repair. Reports all damage.
