Grand Armory Brewing Company is a fast-growing, award-winning, craft brewery located in Grand Haven, MI. Our taproom opened in July of 2015 at the Armory Building, a historic facility located at 17 S 2nd St in the heart of Grand Haven’s downtown district, just blocks from the waterfront and Lake Michigan’s beaches.
Position Overview
Grand Armory Brewing is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Packaging Manager to lead all packaging operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the canning process, maintaining packaging quality standards, and ensuring efficient operation of the Wild Goose canning line. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, packaging line experience, and a passion for producing high-quality craft beer.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day packaging operations, including canning and kegging
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the Wild Goose canning line to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime
- Lead, train, and supervise packaging team members, ensuring safe and efficient workflows
- Ensure packaging quality standards are consistently met, including fill levels, seam integrity, and dissolved oxygen targets
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant packaging environment
- Coordinate packaging runs with brewing/cellar teams to ensure smooth workflow and product readiness
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with repairs on packaging equipment
- Track packaging performance metrics (efficiency, waste, downtime) and implement improvements
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, TTB, etc.)
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in a commercial brewery or beverage packaging environment
- Hands-on experience with a Wild Goose canning line strongly preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a packaging or production setting
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of packaging quality standards and best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including extended shifts during peak production seasons
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
