At Grand Appliance and TV, we believe in building a workplace where employees are empowered, valued, and given room to grow.The Human Resources Generalist supports a wide range of human resource services for assigned departments, retail store managers, and warehouse managers. Responsibilities include employee relations, recruiting support, onboarding, compliance, leave administration, benefits coordination, performance management, engagement, and workers’ compensation. This role provides consistent human resource partnership to assigned teams and contributes to company-wide engagement and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Partnership and Employee Relations
Serve as the lead human resource partner for assigned managers and corporate teams.
Provide coaching and support to assigned managers in performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Promote employee recognition and engagement at the local level.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Collaborate with recruiting to meet hiring goals across assigned locations.
Oversee onboarding support for assigned locations beyond centralized HR processes.
Leave and Compliance Administration
Manage FMLA and ADA across assigned teams.
Manage all Workers’ Compensation claims from intake through resolution.
Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with compliance standards.
Performance & Engagement Programs
Prepare managers on performance review processes and tools.
Assist with company-wide engagement survey and lead post-survey initiatives for assigned groups.
Benefits Coordination
Assist with open enrollment logistics, lead OE sessions across assigned teams, and ensure accurate benefit setup in ADP.
Incentive Program and Payroll Support
Serve as back up for Spiff Administrator.
Serve as back up for weekly payroll processing.
Project Support
Contribute to ad hoc HR projects and process improvements.
Support departmental reporting, documentation, and compliance follow-up.
Qualifications
Three to five years of experience in human resources. Currently in a Human Resource Coordinator or similar role.
Experience supporting multi-site or departmental teams.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Certifications
Degree in human resources, business, or related field required.
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred but not required.
Other Requirements
Occasional travel to supported locations.
Ability to manage confidential matters with discretion.
Comfortable working independently while managing diverse priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate across functions.
