TITLE: Class II Maintenance Engineer
REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering and Engineering Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
GENERAL PURPOSE
All work to be performed in a quick and efficient manner.
All engineering personnel will be well groomed and in a clean uniform following company standard and policies
Complete projects and perform the basic duties and responsibilities of a Class II Engineer and all of the skills of a Class I Engineer
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Duties - Responsibilities
(Includes the following, but are not limited to).
Perform all essential functions of Class I Engineer as needed.
Basic knowledge of mechanical locks, electronic locks, etc.
Basic knowledge of sliding glass doors, entry hinges, etc.
Basic knowledge of televisions, remotes, telephones, and computer systems.
Basic knowledge of heating & cooling system including electronic thermostats and valves.
Basic knowledge of fire prevention equipment, extinguishers, alarm systems (detector and pull stations), sprinkler systems, fire pump, etc.
Basic knowledge of drapes, blinds, wands, etc.
Basic knowledge of standard plumbing, P-traps, tub drains, drain cleaners, toilets, etc.
Basic knowledge of standard electrical, changing outlets, breakers, transformers, lighting ballast, etc.
Basic knowledge of Emergency Generator system
Maintain and repair all guest rooms in accordance with company standards and guidelines
Maintain HVAC filters in guest rooms
Maintain light bulbs in guest rooms and corridors
Maintain complete records of all work
Maintain PM cart containing all necessary parts and materials
Respond to guest rooms calls within 15 minutes
Good communication skills.
Knowledge or ability to learn to maintain and repair various areas including - basic plumbing, basic electrical, kitchen equipment, HVAC equipment, pool and spa equipment and boilers.
Report any unsafe conditions to the Engineering Supervisor.
Complete work orders when assigned in a timely manner.
Learn and be responsible for all life/safety systems including fire, elevators, emergency lighting and generator systems.
Repair and maintain all guest rooms in accordance with hotel standards and guidelines
Successfully complete Training Certifications and review all departmental safety information
Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards in order to react and assist in any hotel emergency
Perform all other related duties as assigned by Director or Engineering Supervisor.

Good vision required to visually inspect equipment.
Verbal communication skills required to communicate with staff and guests.
Basic comprehension and literacy required. .
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required
Frequent bending and kneeling required
Good mobility required to quickly reach all areas of hotel in emergency situations.
Climbing stairs required
Climbing ladders required
Mechanical aptitude required
Working by yourself and with a team required
Working Environment
Inside work - majority of time worked
Outside work – as needed to perform task
May need to tolerate abnormal temperatures from time to time. (0 to 100+ degrees)
Hours: Full-time
Schedule: Afternoon Shift (One Weekend Day is required)
