PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide support to MCJROTC Staff and cadets performing complex administrative and coaching JROTC select teams. Supports the JROTC staff to enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or high school diploma/GED
USAS and CMP Coaching Certificate
JMIC Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Orion System
Knowledge of rifle Target Systems
Knowledge of JROTC curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Knowledge of CMP regulations
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Coaching youth Experience
Strong Computer Background
Accounting Experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Strategies
1. Develop and implement coaching strategies that fulfill the requirements of the JROTC curriculum. Prepare programs that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.
2. Lead, motivate and develop student-athletes to reach their full potential, academically, athleticall and socially, as individuals and as a team.
3. Oversee the recruitment and selection of student-athletes, both academically and athletically.
4. Perform Administrative duties for the JROTC Program.
5. Assist the program in maintaining an up-to-date policies and operation guidelines.
6. Become familiar with district policies and administrative procedures.
7. Work with MCJROTC Staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
8. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
9. Serve as the central point of contact for coordination for external agencies dealing with JROTC business.
10. Assist with purchase orders and maintain records of all purchases for JROTC.
11. Assist with JROTC travel arrangements and expenses in accordance with district and USMC policy.
12. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
13. Be a positive role model for students and support mission of school district.
14. Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
15. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
16. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
17. Assist in selecting equipment, and other instructional materials.
18. Assist with approved fund-raising activities, as requested.
19. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
20. Ensure JROTC facilities are adequate and meet military requirements.
Communication
21. Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, colleges, TECOM staff and community members.
22. Asist in the recruitment of students to enroll in JROTC programs and maintain or exceed cadet enrollment requirements.

23. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
24. Comply with state, and district regulations.
25. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer, phone systems, video/instructional equipment, air rifles, and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged siting and standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking; repetitive computer work with frequent use of hands and wrists
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside from school, home, or location other than school building, may work outside; regular exposure to noise and computer monitors. Regular community and occasional statewide travel
