Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

• Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
• Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.
• Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.
• Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.

Position-Specific Details:

Location: at Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center
Career Progression Group: Vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Custodian 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center.
Compensation: This position offers premium pay for longevity, with rates increasing based on years of service. It also includes shift differential pay, with enhanced rates for evening, night, and holiday shifts.
