Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Food Prep to oversee and coordinate food preparation activities within our team. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise food preparation activities to ensure timely and accurate meal production
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Prepare, cook, and assemble meals according to established recipes and portion sizes
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor storage conditions
- Train and mentor kitchen staff and dietary aides on proper techniques, safety protocols, and best practices
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen area by supervising cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures
- Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requirements and restrictions
- Maintain documentation related to food safety, quality control, and staff performance
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and handling procedures
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience with menu planning, catering, or large-scale food service operations
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate team members
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dietary department operations and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
