Job Summary
The Grade 5 Special Education ICT Teacher supports students with diverse learning needs by delivering inclusive instruction in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The teacher adapts curriculum, integrates assistive technologies, and collaborates with general education teachers to ensure students achieve academic and functional technology skills aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum

Plan and deliver differentiated ICT lessons aligned with Grade 6 curriculum standards.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with learning, physical, emotional, or developmental disabilities.

Integrate assistive and adaptive technologies to support student access and engagement.

Teach digital literacy, basic coding, online safety, and responsible technology use.
Special Education Support
-
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) related to ICT learning goals.

Provide individualized and small-group instruction to support diverse learning styles.

Track student progress and adjust instruction based on assessments and observations.
Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and support staff.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
Classroom Management

Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Implement positive behavior support strategies.

Maintain classroom technology and ensure safe and appropriate use.
Assessment & Reporting

Assess student performance using formal and informal tools.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required.

Use data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, ICT, Education, or a related field.

Valid teaching certification/licensure in Special Education and/or ICT.

Experience working with students with special educational needs at the upper elementary level.
Preferred
-
Training in assistive technology and inclusive education practices.

Experience with IEP development and implementation.

Strong knowledge of educational software and adaptive tools.
