Role Description

Graham Mobile Detailing is hiring a Detail Technician to help handle day to day detailing operations. This is an on-site, hands-on role based in the Blacksburg area. You will work directly with the owner during a paid training period, learning our process, quality standards, customer service expectations, and how to complete jobs efficiently and professionally.

Once training is completed and you are cleared to operate independently, you will begin handling jobs on your own while representing the company in the field. This role includes interior and exterior detailing, vacuuming, shampooing, washing, polishing, applying protection products, setting up and maintaining equipment, and making sure each customer has a great experience from start to finish.

Pay Structure

• Training period: $15/hour
• You will work directly with the owner and be trained on services, workflow, quality expectations, equipment, and customer interaction.
• After training / working independently: $18/hour
• Once you are able to complete jobs on your own and meet company standards, pay increases to $18/hour.
• Performance increase: $20/hour
• After successfully completing additional training objectives and proving consistency, quality, and reliability, pay increases to $20/hour.
• Tips:
• Employees working independently keep their customer tips. Tips often average around $30 per job, and may be higher depending on performance and customer satisfaction. Tip reporting and tax treatment should be handled according to applicable law and the employee’s tax obligations.

Schedule

Hours can vary from week to week depending on job flow and seasonality. Right now, scheduling is influenced in part by the fact that the business is owner-operated, so there is room for stronger consistency as the company grows and the right team member takes on more day to day work.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality interior and exterior vehicle detailing
• Wash, vacuum, wipe down, deep clean, polish, and protect vehicle surfaces
• Assist with or perform services such as waxing, stain removal, interior restoration, and other detailing tasks
• Learn and follow Graham Mobile Detailing systems and quality standards
• Travel to job locations and help maintain a clean, professional mobile setup
• Communicate professionally with customers on-site
• Represent the company well through punctuality, attitude, and quality workmanship
• Help maintain tools, products, and equipment
• Work efficiently without sacrificing quality

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality work
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently after training
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to learn and take instruction
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred
• Experience in detailing, car washing, or automotive appearance work is a plus, but not required for the right candidate
• Ability to handle physical work, including bending, standing, lifting equipment, and working outdoors in varying conditions
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
