The Kensington Hotel is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and guest-focused Part-Time Host to join our restaurant team on weekends!

As the first point of contact for our restaurant guests, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience from the moment guests arrive. • Warmly greet guests as they arrive and provide a friendly, welcoming first impression.
• Offer seating options, escort guests to their tables, and present menus.
• Help maintain an efficient dining room flow while ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Keep the dining room clean and organized by bussing tables and arranging place settings.
• Accept and record reservations and coordinate seating arrangements for special functions.
• Communicate with restaurant team members to help ensure smooth service.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned.

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is a plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important!

 What You Need

•   Must have the ability to communicate in English. 
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. 
• Can communicate well with guests. 
• Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials. 
• Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests. 
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. 
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items. 
• Ability to operate keyboard and tablet to manage reservations.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time. 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and customers.
