We are looking for an energetic, friendly and motivated person to join our team! Grafted Wine Bar and Lounge is a wine-focused hangout spot in a historic home near downtown Belleville, IL. It is a small operation where we provide exceptional service, high quality drinks and dishes in a personalized and customer-focused atmosphere.

Responsibilities
Grafted is not your typical bar. We are unique in that every member of the team is responsible for all parts of the operation. Cleaning, stocking, greeting and interacting with customers, preparing and running food–we are all in this together! It is important that all team members understand their responsibilities to ensure a successful and smooth operation. Everyday is different and the tasks will change, so the ability to know what needs to be done is key.
Service
- Greet all guests with a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout their experience.
- Engage with customers to assess their preferences and recommend wines, drinks and food.
- Work closely and communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive teamwork dynamic.
- Take food and drink orders from patrons and fulfill them as well as proficiently use the POS (point-of-sale) system to keep track of customer’s tickets.
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to drink recipes and customer preferences.
- Practice exceptional multitasking and maintain focus in an occasionally fast-paced environment.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring all glassware is polished.
Kitchen
- Assist in kitchen preparation tasks: chopping, using the stovetop, assessing inventory, replenishing supplies, etc.
- Prepare and serve cheese and meat boards: slice meats, cut cheeses appropriately, and learn about the current cheese and meat offerings to help customers understand the flavor profiles of each.
- Prepare and serve a variety of dishes including brunch items and small plates.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, ensuring dishes are done and put away.
Grafted Maintenance & Operations
- Maintain and manage bar inventory, restocking and replenishing items as needed throughout the shift.
- Operate the POS (point-of-sale) system and cash register for processing payments quickly and accurately.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including completing inventory checks and cleaning tasks.
- Prioritize tasks appropriately and follow employee guidelines to ensure duties are completed entirely.
- Understand and enforce Grafted’s policies.
- Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe work environment for both staff and guests.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 21 years old.
- 1-3 years of experience as a bartender or in beverage service is preferred, but if not have willingness to learn.
- Experience in a kitchen or with cooking is a plus
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification and BASSET Training is a plus, otherwise it will need to be completed upon hiring.
Pay and Schedule
- Competitive pay
- Part-time, 20 hours a week.
- Weekends (Friday through Sunday, rotating shifts).
Pay: From $10.00 per hour
