Contract IT Support Technician – Remote & Onsite (1099)

Overview

Graffeo Technology Services is seeking an experienced, dependable IT Support Technician to provide remote and onsite technical support for business clients throughout South Florida.

The ideal candidate is comfortable handling everything from routine end-user support to more complex technical troubleshooting and escalations.

Our Fortress Managed Technology Services offering combines day-to-day IT support, cybersecurity, infrastructure management, and technology advisory services. We are expanding our network of qualified technical resources to support client operations, service escalations, infrastructure projects, and ongoing technology needs.

This independent contractor opportunity is ideal for a skilled IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with business clients, and supporting a variety of technical environments.

Assignments will vary based on client needs and may include remote support tickets, scheduled onsite visits, equipment deployments, and larger technology projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot advanced technical issues involving networking, user access, applications, and endpoint security.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and office technology.
• Perform workstation deployments, equipment replacements, and onsite installations.
• Support basic networking, including switches, routers, wireless access points, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
• Use remote management, monitoring, and ticketing tools to resolve and document support requests.
• Coordinate with senior engineers on complex escalations, cybersecurity issues, and infrastructure projects.
• Respond to scheduled onsite visits and occasional urgent support requests.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing Graffeo Technology Services professionally.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on IT support experience, including advanced troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and business IT environments.
• Experience with remote technical support and networking fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
• Ability to safely lift and move standard IT equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting small and medium-sized businesses or working for a managed services provider (MSP).
• Familiarity with RMM, ticketing, and documentation tools such as Kaseya, Datto, Zoho Desk, or IT Glue.
• Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, endpoint security, and network administration experience.
• CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft certifications, or equivalent experience.

Equipment Requirements

Contractors should have access to:

• Reliable laptop capable of supporting remote administration and troubleshooting.
• Basic IT technician toolkit.
• Cable tester and common networking tools.
• Smartphone with camera and internet access.
• Reliable transportation for onsite assignments.

Additional tools or equipment may be required for certain assignments.
