Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Radiology Technician role based in Chickasha, OK. The Radiology Technician performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Daily responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating radiologic equipment, following radiation safety standards, and verifying patient identification and exam details. The role also includes explaining procedures to patients, maintaining imaging equipment, documenting exams in electronic systems, and collaborating closely with radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff. The Radiology Technician supports efficient workflow in the imaging department, assists in emergency and inpatient imaging needs, and participates in quality assurance and infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Foundational clinical knowledge and understanding of Radiologic Technology, Radiology, and basic Medicine relevant to diagnostic imaging.
- Demonstrated competency in Radiation Safety, including proper use of protective equipment and adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; associate degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred.
- Valid state radiologic technologist license (or eligibility to obtain) as required by Oklahoma regulations.
- Strong patient-care skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with PACS/RIS and electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
